Year-Round Registration - It's always a great time to get your Scouting #AdventureOn !
We appreciate the fact that you've joined the thousands of families who want to see their youth grow in personal, mental, and civic fitness. You can learn a great deal about participating in our pack from this Welcome Packet for Parents.
Our pack aims to make the scouting experience accessible to as many families in as many situations as possible. If you're new to scouting and outdoor activities we hope you find these resources helpful. If you have any questions that aren't covered here, please let us know via our Contact Page!
Our pack runs with the help of our volunteers and our families. We invite every family to let us know ways they would like to help by filling out our talent survey.
Our pack is always working to make new families welcome and wants to provide helpful information.
Please see our FAQ page for answers to frequently asked questions.
If you haven't already reviewed our "Join the Fun" information, please do!
Our pack participates in multiple camping trips each year. While these trips are not mandatory, it is a great way to get to know the rest of your pack family.
We typically spend 2 days (Friday night - Sunday Morning) in fellowship out in nature. However, families have the option to join us for only the daytime activities and skip the sleeping outdoors part if they choose.
If you've never been camping before, we know this can seem daunting. Our pack has developed a list of suggested camping gear: Download PDF. Please let your Den leader know if you have any reservations about spending time in the woods or need help with equipment. If you do not have everything on this list, don't let that stop you from coming out with us. Let a leader know and we'll do our best to make sure this doesn't prevent your family from participating!
Our pack uses Scoutbook+ for all essential scouting communication and advancement tracking.
We also have a Remind group for immediate messages that need to be sent out to our pack. We use this sparingly and will not spam your phones with communication.
Join Pack 271 on Remind!
We use social media to help spread awareness about scouting and what our Pack is doing in our community. We would love to have you follow and tag us as your family is on your scouting journey! You can find pictures of our recent activities and events on our Facebook page.
All scouting advancement that involves a religious aspect can be completed outside the pack/den activities. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Pack 271 and religious engagement, please contact the Cubmaster. If you do not already have their contact information, please use our website Contact form.
Scouting America is absolutely nonsectarian in its attitude toward that religious training. Its policy is that the home and the organization or group with which the member is connected shall give definite attention to religious life. [scouting.org]
